Called to the Bar in 2018, Roy specialises in chancery practice, focusing on commercial disputes, trusts, and company matters, alongside interests in competition and securities law. His practice spans trial advocacy, appellate work, and advisory.

Advocacy is a key focus in Roy’s practice. Roy simplifies complex legal arguments into clear, compelling presentations. His strong witness handling skills have been demonstrated through conducting High Court trials involving multi-day cross-examinations on his own right.

Roy accepts urgent instructions and is capable of delivering efficient support and preparing documents under tight deadlines.

Outside the law, Roy is an amateur triathlete and trail runner, currently training for a sub-5 hours half Ironman.

  • Supervising counsel from early stage to 8-day High Court trial in defending trust claims in relation to multiple properties.

HCA 201/2020

  • Supervising and trial counsel for the Plaintiff claiming against former directors for breach of fiduciary duties and defamation.

HCA 1211/2018

  • Instructed on an urgent basis for leave to appeal against High Court Judge’s decision disallowing stay of civil proceedings pending criminal in a fraud case involving over HK$63M.

DCEO 3/2020

  • Instructed on an urgent basis to institute legal proceedings on disability discrimination against a listed company. Handled all the matters before the case was settled just before trial.

HCAP 22/2016

  • Represented the Plaintiff in applying an urgent injunction in light of an imminent risk of dissipation in a probate action for maladministration and breach of fiduciary duties.

DCCJ 2025/2021

  • Represented a defendant to defend the Plaintiff’s summary judgment application in an unjust enrichment claim which required amendment of defence.

  • Represented minority shareholders in applying an inspection against the company.

  • Successfully represented the prosecution in resisting the appeal against conviction and sentencing in relation to a trafficking of dangerous drugs charge.

  • Assisted a client, who was facing Securities and Futures Commission’s (SFC) investigation in relation to fraudulently or recklessly inducing others to invest money, misconduct and corruption offences, to attend SFC interview.

  • Assisted a client in launching a complaint to SFC for various misconduct by regulated individuals and corporations, including unauthorised allotment of shares, fraudulent representation, engaging in regulated activities without licence, etc. Participated in a without prejudice meeting.

Vivian Chan

Vivian took the CPE and obtained her law degree with the Manchester Metropolitan University and completed her PCLL with the University of Hong Kong.  She commenced her practice as a barrister in 2018.  

Drawing from the experience from her commercial background, Vivian has developed a broad civil practice with emphasis on land, building management, equity and trusts, probate, as well as general commercial disputes.  She also accepts instructions for criminal proceedings.  Vivian has appeared as sole advocate in the District Court, the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal.

Alongside her legal practice, Vivian currently teaches part-time at the University of Hong Kong as a tutor, and at the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKUSPACE) as an adjunct lecturer in Land Law and Civil Procedure.

She is also an accredited mediator with HKMAAL and has acted as Mediator in cases involving debt recovery, intellectual property rights, contractual claims, commercial disputes,  employment and building management.

Vivian is fluent in English and Cantonese.

Adrian So

Adrian has developed a broad criminal and civil practice and has experience in matters spanning a wide spectrum of practice areas. He has appeared both in his own right and as a led junior in the Court of Final Appeal, the Court of First Instance, the District Court and the Magistrates’ Courts. He also acted as counsel-on-fiat for the prosecution in the Magistrates’ Courts and is currently on the Legal Aid Panel for criminal matters.

Adrian has experience in a wide range of criminal cases, both at trial and appellate level, such as money laundering, corruption, dishonesty offences, sexual offences, assault offences, road traffic offences, drug-related offences and immigration offences. On the civil side, Adrian has accumulated experience in matters such as personal injuries, contractual, probate, company, land, commercial matters, administrative appeal, and other general civil disputes.

Elvin Chan

On the civil side, Elvin has a broad civil practice encompassing a wide spectrum of civil and commercial disputes.  He has appeared as sole advocate in all levels of court up to the Court of Appeal.  Elvin is also regularly engaged by the Government for civil work.

On the criminal side, Elvin is regularly instructed for trial and other matters by both defendants and as counsel-on-fiat for the prosecution.

Alongside his practice, Elvin has been teaching tort law as a tutor in the Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law (C.P.E) programme since 2022.

Before joining the Bar, Elvin was an Associate in the Advisory Department of international compliance firm The Red Flag Group (since acquired by LSEG Data & Analytics, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG)) for three years.

Stanley Siu

Mr Siu is called to the Hong Kong Bar in 1996.  He then practises as a barrister-at-law in Hong Kong continuously up to this date. He is also a mediator of CEDR and an adjunct professor of the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE).

The practice of Mr Siu covers a wide range of land and commercial cases, particularly on adverse possession, easement, boundary disputes and New Territories practice involving Chinese customary laws, probate and succession cases and etc.  Mr Siu appears for the Department of Justice and Legal Aid Department in criminal cases as well.

Mr Siu sat as Deputy District Judge for various periods in 2014, 2022 and 2023.

Mr Siu is an accredited CEDR mediator with wide experiences in civil and commercial mediation.  He used to mediate in disputes involving the Hong Kong Hospital Authority in a medical negligence case, a leading dry-ice company of Hong Kong in a commercial dispute case, indigenous villagers over customary interest, property disputes and etc.

Since 1996, Mr Siu has devoted to legal education.  He started teaching for HKU SPACE from 2001 onwards, mainly lecturing legal courses for government departments, including Customs and Excise Department, Correctional Services Department, Lands Department, Labour Department and etc.  Mr Siu is now an Adjunct Professor of HKU SPACE.

With dedication to public welfare, Mr Siu served as legal advisor or member for various government boards, committees and other public organizations, including Transport Department, Association of Licentiates of Medical Council of Hong Kong, Public Affairs Forum, Incorporated Management Committee of a school of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and etc.  He was the Chairman of the Appeal Tribunal Panel under the Buildings Ordinance between 2021 and 2024.  Mr Siu is currently (2025 to 2027) the appointed member of the Disciplinary Board Panel of the Lands Department responsible for conducting inquiries of the disciplinary offences committed by authorized land surveyors under the Land Survey Ordinance.

Mr Siu is an active participant of the Free Legal Advice Scheme of the Duty Lawyer Service from 1997 onwards.  His service is formally recognized and appreciated by the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of HKSAR on two occasions.

In 2024, Mr Siu is qualified as a Chinese lawyer of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area of PRC.  He is now also practising as a licensed lawyer at the Greater Bay Area of PRC.

Mr Siu is fluent in Putonghua, Cantonese and English and is ready to conducting court hearings, mediation and conferences in Putonghua, Cantonese and English.
